Welcome everyone!
I have finally launched my video game company Boredgames, and I’m really excited for what the future might bring. I wanted to create a little post here to talk a bit about why I started it and a little outline for what lays in store for Boredgames.
Why?
Firstly, lets get the introduction out of the way; My name is Fredrik Ekeberg, I’m 30 years old from Norway. I am a 3D artist, self taught programmer and video game enjoyer. Throughout my life I have always enjoyed creating, and exploring my creativity.
During Christmas 2025 I was facing a bit of a fork in the road, as my previous software project was not particullary satesfying to work on any longer. And I was looking for other ways to scratch my creative itch. My sister and I had talked multiple times about creating video games, and I have tried on and off (mostly off) at times to do so, from using GameMaker in elementry school to noodling with Unreal Engine later. My sister is a big advocate for open source software and was pointing me in the direction of the Godot engine, and I decided to give it a shot.
Over newyears 2025 I downloaded Godot and started to learn about the engine, its features and GDScript. I needed a small project to get me kickstarted with the process of actually putting together a releasable game, and this is where “Cock Flight” was born. I must say that putting together a video game is fun, satesfying, frustrating yet rewarding process that I have found to love. As a former professional 3D artist it gives me an outlet to work on art and be creative, and coding the logic is a challange with a visual and satesfying end result. I have found this process to be something I want to do every day!
The future
With “Cock Flight” out the door, it is of course time to raise the abition. I am happy to say that our next game is in full production, currently in its pre-alpha stage, and will be in a playable state shortly. I will not spoil too much about it, other than it will be a full PC release this time. I have will share more about this game in due time, and I hope you will enjoy it!
So the plan is quite simple, continue to release games and hopefully raise the complexity and ambition for each future title. As our skillset grows and propper workflows are estabished, hopefully it will be easier and quicker to release more ambitious titles. But time will tell :)
Thank you if you read through this, and thanks to everyone who stumbles across our games and playes them. Lets see what the future will bring!
